“Nine in 10 China-based correspondents who replied to the survey said they wouldn’t enter the Olympic zone so they could maintain mobility and continue reporting. China’s adherence to its zero-Covid-19 policy has also led to harsh and unpredictable quarantines, making it difficult to report outside of the country’s main cities where most media are based, the report’s authors wrote, adding that authorities appeared to cite such restrictions in delaying issuance of press credentials or obstructing reporting trips.”
